Come on Barrow….Let’s Soapbox!!
The Barrow Super Soapbox Challenge is coming to Barrow on Saturday June 29th 2019.
Come along to see all the action at this fantastic, free, fun-filled, family day out!
For those adventurous types, enter your team of 5 now.
Eddie the eagle is launching at 10am today!
Where will you be watching the Super Soapbox Challenge in Barrow Town Centre?
The map below shows the course for the Soapbox Challenge on 29th June in Barrow Town Centre. With Eddie the Eagle starting the racing at 10am, where will you be watching? Here are some ideas…
1. The Townhouse will be hosting an outdoor area outside their premises and you should be able to see the racing on the Buccleuch street large screen TV.
2. The grandstand will be located on Buccleuch St and will give you great access to local bars.
3. The finish area will host one of our MCs from The Bay radio station and is ideally placed for loads of town centre cafes and bars.
4. Near Scott Street will give you great access to the children’s funfair rides on Scott Street.
5. On one side of Cavendish Street you’ll have access to the funfair rides in Fell St car park and be able to enjoy a drink from the Labour Club.
6. The other side of Cavendish Street provides access to lots of places to eat and drink and you’ll get the chance to see the carts take on the bollards on Dalton Rd.
7. Outside McDonald’s is great for food and drink in the area including award winning De:lish on Crellin St and the Robin Hood.
8. The shipbuilding statue will provide a large area for people to see the karts and also provide easy viewing of the big screen TV outside McDonald’s. This area also provides access to Portland Walk and the outdoor market where there will be food and drink businesses.
9. The start ramp and pit area will host our second MC and you’ll get to see the carts taking on the terrifying start ramp.
Wherever you choose to watch the event, you’re sure to have lots of fun.
